Beyond the Resume
Outside of the work, I'm a husband and dad who gets to live the lake life I always wanted. Shae and I have built something real here in Minnesota's lake country — a home on the water where the pace of the seasons and the sound of kids and boats keep everything honest.
Being a dad is the best thing I've ever done. The kids have a way of putting everything else in perspective. They don't care about uptime, SOC 2 certifications, or acquisition integrations. They just want you present. That's not a bad thing to be reminded of.
I've been building companies on the side since 2007. None of them made me rich — all of them made me better. A motorcycle dealership, a landlord SaaS platform, a volunteer app, a glamping business, and one I can't tell you about yet. I keep building because I genuinely can't stop seeing problems worth solving. The ventures tab has the full story.
